December 2011

Sorry Dav, this remote is better than your book.

Oh, maybe this book is cool..

YAAHH Dav, this book was AweSomE! haha. I love these two!

Humm...I think they might land exactly right here... So I'll dump it all for them to fight over.

Brennen trying to help he understand how to sprinkle it around..

Dawson in his sweet Santa diapers.

Wrapped and ready!!
Davin's Barn.  Boston got one last year and Davin just loves it! He always want to go to his house and play with it.

Dawson's train.

Cookies and milk for Santa.  Decorated by Davin.  I'm pretty sure the one on the bottom right is going to be his favorite.  I mean who doesn't love a WHOLE handful of sprinkles!

These pictures uploaded in RANDOM order! So here you have it, Christmas at the Orton house.

Santa Stuff..Davin really wanted a western gun.  It is the only thing he really asked Santa for.  So Christmas morning, he walked righ past the barn, right to the western gun(the little pistol one you can hardly see in the pic:) and yelled, "A WESTERN GUN!! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!) It was so funny.  DAV got some western guns, a trailor and the barn.  Dawson got some new hooded towels, washclothes, clothes and his train.  Then in the middle are some family gifts.  I asked Santa to bring the kids one book, one movie, and one game each year to add to our family collection.  This year since there were two boys, he thought he'd leave 2 of each:)

Dawson didn't know what to think.  I only wrapped a few things for him since I knew he wouldn't really care.

Dav's new bull riding/saddle bronc vest.  He said, "Yes, now I'm like Cody Wright!"
Christmas from Santa and mom and dad.  Note to self; Relax a little next year.  I had a hard time controlling myself with Davin because of his cowboy obsession!
Dawson really just wanted to go back to sleep!
 Cowboy!
Cody Wright/Jesse Wright/Lane Frost He is usually one of these three when you ask him.

Santa has delivered!

Christmas 2011: I was so excited for Christmas this year.  I knew Dav would finally understand it and be so excited about everything.  The only thing he really asked for was a western gun from Alco.  I should have just told Santa to bring that and call it good! I am terrible with pictures.  It isn't until it's all over with that I realize my lack of taking pictures.  Christmas Eve we went down to Robin and Mark's in Milford for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner.  It was great and we always look forward to going down there.  Then we came over and had my family over to our house. We decorated cookies for Santa and visited.  It was fun and something I hope we can keep doing!  Christmas day we woke up and had my mom and dad come over to watch the kids open presents.  They had fun but I'm always sad it is all over within a few minutes! Then we went to my mom's and had breakfast! It was delish! Since we missed our ward becuase of breakfast, we went with Troy and Nicole's family to their ward.  I'm so thankful to have the knowledge we have of the true meaning of Christmas.  It seems the older I get the more I think about it each year and the more I appreciate the true meaning.  Then we headed out to the Orton's to exchange gifts and skype with Elder Rylan Orton!  I love that they let him skype! He is doing so good and we are so proud of him. It is so good to talk to him and hear how he has grown up but still hasn't changed too much!  He wanted to hear all the hunting stories and see all the sheds they picked up! Dav and Daws scored big again with grandpa's and grandma's gifts..once again no pics! It was a great Christmas!  The best part about Christmas is the magic with the kids and being surrounded by family! *Sorry for typos-I have a fiesty 8 month old helping me!

Rodeo/Santa/Dawson Getting Big!

Most nights are not too boring at our house.  We either have a rodeo going on, a hunting expedition, or some sort of  ball game.  Tonight Brennen's mom and brothers came to visit and we had a rodeo.  Davin gets so into it, he is a die hard.

I love the way Davin is standing.  He's patiently waiting and taking it all in.

Davin learned from the best. Ha, he's such a kid at heart.

I think Dawson will be crawling soon.  TO SOON! I can't believe it,
how did this happen so fast.  He absolutely loves for you to hold
his hands and let him walk and run all over.  I thought he'd walk before
he crawled but it doesn't look like it anymore.  It's funny when he is trying
so hard, he pushes himself up into stink bug position.  He's growing up
so fast.  He has been saying mama for quite awhile now and within the last
few days he's been saying dada.  So cute.

Dawson's first visit with Santa.

We took the kids to see Santa today.  Davin has been wanting this gun from Alco.  Everytime we go in there he runs straight for and just sits and adores it.  I told him he'll have to tell Santa he wants it.  So, we've talked about it quite a bit and what he was going to tell Santa.  I thought he was prepared and ready, I was wrong.  The whole way down the road he was telling us he was going to tell Santa he wants a 'western gun'.  He needs to shoot all the cats in the neighborhood.  We walked through the doors, he took one look at Santa and said, "I'm ain't going to sit on HIS lap!"  We couldn't talk him into it either.  I guess we'll have to write a letter.  I'm so excited for Christmas this year.  Davin is at such a fun age.  He gets it a little better and will be so excited to see his gifts.  I'll be introducing an elf that will be living with for a month next week..I.Can't.Wait! I hope Davin gets into it as much as I anticipate he will!  We're close to being done with decor and shopping.  I plan to sit back and take it all in a little more this year. Yea right, I know.  We're hoping Grandpa Troy will be home by Christmas, keeping our fingers crossed! That would make it complete! I hope everyone enjoys the Holidays, "It's the most wonderful time of the year!"

Davin Preschool/Daws 6-7Months

Here are a few of Dav's preschool projects.  He likes preschool and so far they say he's doing pretty good.  I was a little scared for his teachers but so far not too bad.  They've seen his stubborn side and it is a strong one! He loves to come home and do his homework and tell us about the things he made.

Dawson is now 7 months old.  I can't believe it.  He is so much fun and getting such a cute personality here are a few facts about him:
At six months: Weight:17.5
                      Height: 27 3/4
                      Head:   17 1/7
He drinks 4-5 7 oz. bottles a day, a bowl of cereal with fruit in the morning, a fruit and veggie for lunch, and a veggie and oatmeal for dinner.  He is a pig!  He loves all food and if anyone is eating anything, he will watch the spoon/fork from the plate all the way into your mouth while salivating.
He sleeps all night.  When he gets tired we can usually take him in there, lay him down, and he'll go to sleep.
He is a little spoiled. . . ok, alot! He likes to be held and talked to.  If he's sitting down and you walk by, he usually lets out a squeal.  If you don't respond within a few squeals, he'll turn it to a scream.
He loves Dav.  No matter how rough or hard Dav plays with him, he still adores him.  He gets all excited and kicks his feet until Davin comes to talk to him.
He has been sitting up for about a month and a half.  He gets where ever he needs to go on his back.  He arches his back and scoots all over the place.  He's getting to the point when he's sitting up, he'll lean forward and go on all fours for a second.  I'm afraid he'll be crawling soon...sad.
He is super ticklish.
He loves to sit up in the bath and put his hands under the running water.
We sure do love him! There is a reason he is spoiled, no one can leave him alone when their around becuase he's so much fun to play with!

Halloween 2011

Well, I am a little disappointed at the pics we got, or didn't get, this year.  A wild 3 year old and a don't want anything around my head 6 month old didn't make it too easy.  Dav was a rodeo clown.  I was inspired when he did his little runway for me the day he found my rainbow socks.  It was pretty simple and I used alot of clothes we already had.  Dawson was an adorable little monkey.  My good friend Natalie let me borrow a costume she had for her boys.  His chubby cheeks totally fulfilled the role.  Here are some pics of Dav on the day his preschool dressed up.  I had to work so Brennen got him ready.  He said he was kind of being a little bugger at first, imagine that, but after his friend offered his cowboy gun to him he was in business.  Gun, why didn't I think of that? Duh, a rodeo clown always neeeds a gun!  They took them down main street and trick-or-treated.  As the pictures shows, he didn't want anything to do with a group picture.

Halloween: He was so tired he didn't really even want to go trick-or-treating.  I thought we were going to be in for it.  He has his father's blood...little sleep=BEAR!

He didn't want candy at trunk or treat, he just walked on by.  I was perfectly fine with that.  He doesn't need sugar to keep him going.

I wanted to get pics of them together but that didn't happen.  Brennen decided to stay over to the trunk or treat and ramble on about the deer hunt, which btw is OVER, ThaNk HeaVens, while I took Dav to my mom's to feed him.  But the time Dav got there he was D.O.N.E. with his costume and so was Dawson.  So, we don't have any cute pics of them together.  So yet another holiday I come out disgusted with our picture production!
