Davin's First Christmas

Christmas was a blast this year!! Even though Dav didn't have the slightest idea what was going on it was alot of fun! I loved setting out his toys, putting him in his lil' pjs and all that fun jazz! Christmas Eve we had a dinner down in Milford at Brennen's aunt Robin's. It was so nice with lots of yummy food and a good time visiting with each other.. Then Christmas day I think Dav knew Santa came because he woke up at like 6:30 which was very rare.. but I was so excited we brought him in and let him see his toys and everything. We got ready and went down to Brennen's parents and watched his little brothers open all their presents from Santa. It's so fun becuase they are young and get so excited! Then we went up to my parents and had lunch with all my siblings and nieces and nephews. It was lots of fun as well. Brennen and I were very spoiled as well. I got a new camera, which was a total suprise, a Roberts gift card(love love love Roberts), a Dooney and Burke?? purse from my in-laws(THANK YOU), and some other fun stuff. Brennen got a new rino radio with a GPS in it, shoes, clothes, ties, etc. He also got a really nice coyote call and some camo from his parents. Christmas was a success at the Orton House!

Christmas with Dav was so much fun! He got this cute little Rockin' Homer that I love and I am also disappointed in...I thought it was alot bigger..it looked alot bigger in the catalog but it is still super cute and Dav knows just what to do on it. It sings the ABC's, take me out to the ball game, and counts. He got alot of clothes, books, and fun toys. I can't imagine what we would do without him!

Tonight was our ward Christmas party and

we were asked to dress up like biblical times.

I couldn't really get creative with me and Brennen

but I thought Dav sure looked cute! It was

a really neat program and a great way to

remember the TRUE meaning of CHRISTmas!

(He is extremely tired of being a shepard boy

by now so thats the reason for sober sam!)

A Little Orton Fun!

WARNING: This is a pretty long post! ... I haven't updated for awhile so here are a few pictures of what we have been up to.

So I didn't really get any good pics on Thanksgiving.

We had a GREAT Thanksgiving. We had it up to my

mom's this year and then we went out to Brennen's

house later that afternoon and hung out with his fam.

It was alot of fun. Dav LOVED LOVED LOVED the pumpkin

pie with whip cream, rolls, and a little soda! Here he

is chillin with the boys watchin football.

He cut the second one yesterday but you can't see

it good enough to take a pic of it.

Dav seeing SANTA for the FIRST time! He liked him, he didn't

really notice anything special, but he liked him. The big

flash things went off in this pic but I still think

it is pretty cute.

I didn't get alot of good pics because quite frankly

it was to cold to get out and I didn't want to freeze.

I know...i'm a baby! Anyways, his team took second

this year and he had alot of fun. He played QB which

was fun and interesting! He was so sore the next

day I think he was sure he was going to die!

Unfortunately, we had to stay in the car becuase

it was FREEZING cold.

his back to his belly but he CANNOT figure

out how to get back over. It's so funny

he'll like get his arms in place and everything

but he just can't get his hips to move. I

think I'm okay with him not getting

to mobile yet though. It's only a matter

of time before he's into everything.

He'll stay up for ten minutes or so. I guess i should say

when he's in the mood other times he just lays back....

Like in church when I think I have him sittin perfect

and I'm totally into the lesson and all the sudden he

starts screaming because he fell over and hit his head...

other than that he does pretty good :)

It'S FinALlY IN!!

Davin has his FiRsT TooTh!!! Sorry there isn't a picture but it's pretty impossible to get him to open his mouth and get one so maybe when you can see it a little better I will be able to get a good pic. So the night before last night I was doing homework so Brennen was putting Dav to bed and he was fussing like crazy. Which is not usual! I could tell he was miserable it wasn't like he was just being naughty I could tell something was wrong. So I gave him some tylenol and he finally went to sleep. Then yesterday when I was driving to school my mother-in-law called me and said his tooth finally came through. I've been waiting for one to come in for awhile becuase he has been drooling and nearly chewing off his fingers so I knew the day was coming! It's going to be a long fun ride with the teething process I can already tell! So thats the latest and greatest from the Orton home! Dav is so much fun. I can't believe how much his little personality is coming out! He is an extremly happy baby which makes it so great! He is starting to sit up and the other night Brennen was laying on the ground by him and Dav was sitting by him and Dav put his hands on Brennens chest and stood up! He's a strong little guy!

My Hip HopPin HalloWeeN BabY!

Halloween was alot of fun for us this year with Dav. Even though he didn't know what was going on it was alot of fun to dress him up. He was a hip hop baby. I thought it turned out really cute.
As you can tell Brennen and I dressed up....He was a dad and I was a mom :) okay maybe next year I'll be a little more creative! I hope you all had a fun Halloween! Here are some cute pictures but it is pretty much impossible to get a good one of him. He's not the biggest fan of the camera. His shirt says 'Word to yo mommy'

Dav n' Daddy

CarViN' PuMpkIns

Last night we carved pumpkins and I can say that was pretty

much my first time (that I can remember - I'm sure I did it when

I was little with my mom but its been a LonG timE). As you can tell

I'm definatly no pro! Yea it was alot harder than I thought. I'm pretty

sure next time we will be buying some stencils. These are our finished

products. There aren't real special but we enjoyed ourselves!

Mine is the cute one...Brennen carved BOO in the back of

his and I failed to get a picture of that.

St. George Halloween Tournament

Last weekend we went down to St. George for the Men's Softball Halloween Tournament. Brennen has played in it for a few years and it is so much fun.

Its fun for me too becuase alot of the wives go down and we just hang out

and enjoy the weekend away..in nice weather.

This year they didn't have a whole lot of luck so we won't really go there.

On a little side note....Dav had a huge day Monday! He rolled over from back to stomach and he ate some baby food...Applesauce!! Of course, I couldn't find my disk to my camera. So this first time mom thing is really getting me...I totally thought my son was slacking because he hadn't been rolling over. Then, I was informed it was okay alot of babies don't roll over by 4 1/2 months..I guess I just get a little anxious?? Also, he probably should have been eating baby food awhile ago but we just started the real stuff on Monday..He has been eating cereal when he goes to bed since he was two months..possibly the reason for obesity? It was so funny to watch him eat the applesauce I thought I was going to die laughing! He was smacking his lips and pulling all sorts of faces it was so CuTe! On a sadder note, I forgot to mention he fell off the couch the other day :( I had him sitting in the corner and I thought I had him slouched down enough so I ran in the other room to get something and I heard a big thud followed by a horrific scream..Yea I have never moved so fast in my life! I like hurdled the coffee table (please don't picture in your head) and grabbed him..then I started to cry. I felt so bad. Brennen came home and I was sitting in the rocking chair holding him with tears rolling down my cheeks (Davin was sound asleep like nothing happened) and Brennen was like whats wrong? I told him and he was like 'Kiesh seriously things happen. He looks like he is just fine.' But still it was sad. I'm sure I'll have many of those days to come.

Rylans Chainsaw Massacre

Sorry for those of you with a weak stomach!

Last saturday Brennen's parents and some of his brothers decided to go out and cut some wood. While Rylan was cutting, something happened (not 100% sure what) and the chainsaw kicked back and got his leg. At first, he didn't even know he had been cut that bad because it happened so fast but when he lifted up his pants he realized he did get cut...just a little! So they rushed to the hospital, Jackie driving like the nascar drivers, and found it was a pretty bad cut. He was lucky because it just barely nicked his bone but it pretty much went right between the two bones. They started stitching but decided staples would do the job. I decided to post the after picture becuase the before picture is ...well you can imagine...DisGustInG! I was quickly reminded why I changed from the nursing field to school teaching!! Needless to say Rylan is extremly bummed becuase it is his senior year of football and their last home game is tomorrow night and then play offs are coming up.

One PlumTuckereD OuT BaBy!

Davin was sooOooO tired tonight. To tell you the truth he had cried on the way up to my moms becuase he was hungry, yes I starve my child if you can't tell, and cried himself to sleep. Right when we got there Brennen got him out to eat and he wouldn't budge! He was plumtuckered out!! It's like that saying, 'let him sleep for when he wakes he will move mountains'

Last Monday for FHE it was Brennen's turn to choose what we did so he decided to join our friends Lisa, Lance and Abigail. After we got done singing Children's songs, Abba wanted to play ring a round the rosies but she really wanted to play with Davin so Brennen helped him out. It was really cute and they both had a blast. At first Dav was wondering what the heck was going on but then he was smiling and having fun!

So Davin is becoming quite the daddy's boy and yes I am jealous. I thought it was supposed to be mommy's boy and daddy's girl but apparently it doesn't work that way at our house. If I try to talk to Dav and Brennen is in the room, he totally ignores me and stares at Brennen until he gets his attention.

Davin's 4 Month Doctor Visit

I took Dav to the doc for his four month visit yesterday. I cannot believe it has been four months it blows my mind. Anyways, the doc says he is one healthy boy and is weighing in at 17 lbs. and 26 in. He also had to get his shots :( It was so sad he was laughing at the doctor and telling them all big stories and the next thing he knows their giving him shots and he's screaming! Anyways he was tough, he has enough fat on his legs he shouldn't have even felt it :)
